Professor Emilio Pradilla Cobos is an Architect from the National University of Colombia; Ph.D. in Superior Techniques of Development [III Cycle], IEDES, University of Paris I (Pantheon – Sorbonne), France; with a Master's in Architecture, and a Ph.D. in Urban Planning, Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM).

Professor at the Division of Sciences and Arts for Design, Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM), Xochimilco Campus since 1977, where he has been Coordinator of the Doctorate in Social Sciences, Division of Social Sciences and Humanities (1991-1995); Director of the Design Sciences and Arts Division (1995-1998); Coordinator of the Doctorate in Sciences and Arts for Design (2002-2003); and Head of the Area of Concentration Research and Territorial Management of the Postgraduate in Sciences and Arts for Design (2008 to date).

He has published 24 books and 145 articles and book chapters and gave 330 magisterial conferences in 20 Europe and Latin American countries on urban problems.
