He was born in 1971 in Mexico City. In 1996 he obtained his B.Sc. Physics from the "National Autonomous University of Mexico" (UNAM) and in 2001 obtained his Ph.D. (Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics) from the University of Manchester in the United Kingdom. From 2002 to 2005 he completed two postdoctoral terms at the "Nuclear Sciences Institute" in UNAM.

In 2005 he was awarded "National Researcher Candidate" from "Research National System" (SNI), and from 2008 to 2018 was awarded "Level I National Researcher" also from SNI. During the same period of time (2005-2018) he was awarded "Desirable Profile for Full Time Profesors" (PROMEP). Since 2016 and until 2021 he served as "Studies Coordinator for the Applied Mathematics Programme". Since 2006 he has been Profesor-Researcher in the academic staff at the Department of Applied Mathematics and Systems. His research area is, and has been, Theoretical Physics and Applied Mathematics, where he has published 16 papers in highly prestigious national and international journals, which sum over 140 citations. He has taught more than 90 courses to undergraduates and over 15 courses to postgraduates. He has given more than 20 talks at Conferences and has supervised more than 10 undergrate and postgraduate students. He has published a book on Partial Differential Equations.
