Professor Adrián Hernández Cordero studied for his Ph.D. in Geography at the Department of Geography of the Autonomous University of Barcelona (2015). He completed a research stay at the Contested Cities Network in the Department of Political Science and International Relations at the Autonomous University of Madrid (2013- 2014). He completed his master's degree in Regional Studies at the Instituto de Investigaciones Dr. José María Luis Mora in Mexico (2009) and his bachelor's degree in Human Geography at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM) Iztapalapa Campus (2007).
