Profile
Professor Sergio Revah studied the degree in Chemical Engineering at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) which concluded in 1975 and a master's degree in Food Science and Technology at the University of California at Davis, sponsored by the Organization of American States (OAS) which concluded in 1978. He traveled to France to study for a Ph.D. in Bioprocesses at the Université de Technologie de Compiégne, which ended in 1983. He carried out projects in the Advanced Studies Program in Sustainable Development of El Colegio de México from 1992 to 1994.
In 1976 he began his teaching career at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana Iztapalapa Campus (UAM). He is currently a Professor at the Cuajimalpa Campus.
He has researched the area of environmental biotechnology working on projects on the biological treatment of polluted air, biofilters and biofilms, elimination of odors and hydrocarbons, fungal biofilters, and treatment of sulfides in liquids and air. To support his research, he has obtained the support of national academic institutions such as Conacyt, IMP, INE and ICyTDF, and international institutions such as the IAEA, the OAS, the EU, the AECDI (Spain), Conicyt (Chile), among others. He was an advisor to the Instituto Mexicano del Petróleo.
