Knowledge Generation and Application Lines
1.- Microbial diversity and function in diverse environments (microbial ecology, biodeterioration, molecular biology, biogeochemistry).2.- Biological systems for the treatment of environmental problems (soil, water, air, soil and waste, concrete).
3.- Alternative energies: bioethanol, biodiesel, biogas.
Description
1.- The studies developed are: a) isolation and identification with molecular biology tools of microorganisms of environmental interest. b) composition, evolution, function and interactions of microbial populations present in natural and anthropogenic environments for their use in bioremediation systems of various pollutants (including persistent and emerging pollutants).
2.- The studies carried out in this line are related to the treatment of contamination caused by the release of recalcitrant compounds that pollute air, water and soil, involving processes both at laboratory leve...
