Profile
Professor Gabriel Vigueras Ramirez, born in 1977 in Mexico City, studied Industrial Biochemical Engineering and Postgraduate Studies in Biotechnology at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM) Iztapalapa Campus, obtaining the university merit medal in the last degree. He did a research stay at the Biochemical Engineering Laboratory of the Universidade Estadual de Campinas in Brazil in 2007. He is an Academic Technician at the Department of Processes and Technology, Cuajimalpa Campus of the UAM.
Between 2002-2004 he was a collaborator in the area of quality control at Lundbeck Mexico, a pharmaceutical company specializing in drugs for the nervous system. He is currently doing research in Environmental Biotechnology, focused on the topics of "Recovery of high value-added biomolecules from pollutant treatment processes", "Biological softening of lignocellulosic biomass using filamentous fungi", as well as "Development and validation of analytical methods". He has published articles in journals indexed in JCR, book chapters, papers presented at national and international congresses, scientific dissemination conferences, and article evaluation. He is a member of the CONACYT register of accredited evaluators.
He has taught undergraduate and graduate courses at the Iztapalapa and Cuajimalpa Campuses of the UAM and UAEH. Undergraduate courses are: Chemistry, Biochemistry, General Microbiology, Food Microbiology, Food Biotechnology, Food Toxicology, Science Laboratory I, II, and III. His the graduate courses are: Microbial Physiology, Experimental Techniques and Chromatographic Separation Techniques.
He is a member of the consolidated academic Group of Biosystems in Environment and Energy. He has been recognized as SNI National Researcher Candidate (2011-2014) and Desirable Profile PRODEP (2012-present). He has obtained resources for the development of projects: a) PROMEP No. 47410256 "Effect of hydrophobic stress on the production of conidia and hydrophobins of Paecilomyces lilacinus"; b) LABCIT UAM, Cuajimalpa Campus 2016-2017 "Development of Systems and Resources for Air Quality Censoring"; c) CB-2016 SEP-CONAYT No. 287615 "Analysis of the secretome and CAZymes-FOLymes enzymes of Leucoagaricus gongylophorus during the degradation of lignocellulosic substrates in solid culture".
He has attended several refresher courses: Gas Chromatography: Basic Principles and Equipment Handling; Two-dimensional Protein Electrophoresis and Proteomics; Bioprocesses with Recombinant Microorganisms; Basic Molecular Biology Techniques; Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP); Handling of FT-IR Spectrophotometer; Theoretical-Practical Course on HPLC Handling; Training in the use of TOC-L; Metagenomics applied to biological systems; Optical Microscopy; MALDI TOF Mass Spectrometry; Cooling Tower; Distillation Column; Multidimensional Chromatography.
In terms of teacher training he has attended: Basic workshop on didactic strategies for teaching; Diploma in teacher training (Educational model, Educational planning, Learning evaluation); Microscale gas chemistry workshop; Green chemistry experiments; Alternative methods for reaction activation.
