Semblanza

El Doctor Aguirre-Garrido es Profesor Investigador Titular C Tiempo Completo en la Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana, Unidad Lerma, en el departamento de ciencias ambientales. Por su experiencia en investigación y trayectoria académica, el Dr. Aguirre-Garrido es Investigador Nacional Nivel I del Sistema Nacional de Investigadores, nombramiento vigente hasta el 31 diciembre de 2021.

Su trabajo de investigación está soportado por un total de 12 publicaciones, un índice h de 5 y 112 citas según la base de datos Scopus. Es coautor de 2 capítulos de libros, ha presentado cerca de 15 trabajos en eventos académicos internacionales, 20 trabajos en congresos nacionales e impartido dos cursos de bioinformática uno en la Universidad Autónoma del Estado de México y otro en la Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana.

Ha impartido 5 cursos de conservación de ecosistemas marinos e impacto ambiental en la Unidad Lerma en el marco del convenio que sostiene con la ONG Sea Shepherd. En el periodo de enero 2014 a enero de 2015, hizo una estancia postdoctoral en la Estación Experimental del Zaidín dependiente del Centro Superior de Investigaciones Científicas de España, en el grupo de investigación de Estructura, Dinámica y Función de Genomas de Rizobacterias, durante esta estancia se relacionó con la operación del equipo de secuenciación masiva del centro y el análisis bioinformático de los proyectos asignados al grupo de investigación.

La linea de investigación principal del Dr. Aguirre es la caracterización de comunidades microbianas mediante enfoques de microbiología tradicional y molecular en diferentes ambientes.
