La Doctora Nelly Molina-Frechero es profesora investigadora tiempo completo trabaja en el área de ciencias clínicas del Departamento atención a la salud, sus líneas de investigación son Odontología Preventiva, Fluorosis dental y caries, Toxicología del Agua, Ciencias Básicas en Odontología, Genética de las Enfermedades Bucales, Patología y Medicina Bucal.

Pertenece al Sistema Nacional de Investigadores con Nivel III del CONACYT y es responsable del cuerpo académico consolidados Investigación en Salud Bucal, es perfil PRODEP.

Participación en la creación de la Maestría en Ciencias Odontológicas donde es la primera Coordinadora.

Formación de recursos humanos: Licenciatura. 48, Maestría 16 y Doctorado 4.

A nivel Pregrado docencia en Tronco Divisional de CBS, en la Carrera de Estomatología
Docencia a nivel Posgrado en el Doctorado Ciencias Biológicas y de la Salud y Maestría en Ciencias Odontológicas.

Participa en proyectos de investigación aprobados institucionalmente y colabora en proyectos internacionales. A implementados convenios y trabajos en conjuntos con universidades a nivel nacional e internacional. A nivel Nacional con la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México la Universidad Juárez del Estado de Durango, la Universidad de Guadalajara, la universidad Autónoma de Chihuahua y la Universidad de San Luis Potosí, entre otras. A nivel Internacional con la Universidad de Buenos Aires UBA, la Universidad de Uruguay UDELAR y con la Universidad Católica, con la Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia y con la Universidad de Modena Italia.

La línea de investigación se integra a los objetivos de la institución en relación al desarrollo sustentable donde las metas son brindar atención a los grupos vulnerables mediante acciones que permitan reducir las brechas de desigualdad social y territoriales entre diferentes zonas de la república mexicana y en relación al agua potable, cuyo objetivo es promover y garantizar el acceso al agua potable de calidad y cantidad, priorizando los grupos históricamente discriminados, procurando la salud de la población como la de los ecosistemas y cuencas.

Evaluadora de revistas internacionales como Oral Diseases, Community Dent Oral Epidemiology, BMC Oral Health. Int J Environ Res Public Health, Med Oral Patol Oral Cir Bucal, Dis Markers, Med Sci Monit, entre otras. Evaluadora acreditada de CONACYT, de PRODEP y a nivel internacional de la Agencia Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnología ANII de Uruguay.
