Semblanza

El Dr. Kurt Martin Dreckmann Estay es Profesor Titular de Carrera Nivel C de Tiempo Completo adscrito al Departamento de Hidrobiología de la División de Ciencias Biológicas y de la Salud de la Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana, Unidad Iztapalapa.

Se graduó como Biólogo en la Facultad de Ciencias de la UNAM, donde obtuvo también el grado de M. en C. en el área de Sistemática; en 2009, obtuvo el grado de Dr. en Ciencias Biológicas y de la Salud por parte de la UAM.

Ha impartido cerca de 500 cursos de licenciatura y posgrado en la UAM, donde se desempeña como profesor investigador de tiempo completo desde 1987. Actualmente, cuenta con una producción científica de aproximadamente 70 artículos y 8 libros; ha participado en la formación de 30 estudiantes de licenciatura y posgrado, en la figura de director y/o asesor.

Desde 2018 al presente, pertenece al Sistema Nacional de Investigadores. Durante su trayectoria académica, ha desarrollado su investigación bajo las líneas de Sistemática, Taxonomía, Biogeografía y Evolución, con macroalgas marinas como objeto de estudio.
