Dr. Kurt Martin Dreckmann Estay is a Full-Time Full Professor at the Department of Hydrobiology of the Division of Biological and Health Sciences of the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana, Iztapalapa Campus.
He graduated as a Biologist from the UNAM, Faculty of Sciences, where he also obtained his Master's degree in Systematics; In 2009, he obtained his Phd in Biological and Health Sciences from the UAM.
He has taught nearly 500 undergraduate and graduate courses at the UAM, where he has served as a full-time research professor since 1987. Currently, he has a scientific production of approximately 70 articles and 8 books; He has participated in the training of 30 undergraduate and graduate students as supervisor.
From 2018 to the present, he belongs to the National System of Researchers. During his academic career, he has developed his research along the lines of Systematics, Taxonomy, Biogeography and Evolution, with marine macroalgae as an object of study.
