Professor Beatriz Sofía Schettino Bermúdez graduated as Industrial Biochemical Engineer from the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM) Iztapalapa Campus. Master's degree in Experimental Biology from UAM Iztapalapa Campus. Doctorate in Veterinary Sciences from the Agrarian University of Havana "Fructuoso Rodríguez Pérez". CENSA. Cuba. Recognition as a member of the National System of Researchers Level I. Recognition PRODEP Profile 2009-2021.
She has participated in several research projects at UAM Iztapalapa Campus, such as: Protein Enrichment of Cassava by Fermentation in solid medium. Funded by CONACYT. Valorization of Tropical Agricultural Products. Funded by the European Economic Community. Rapid biomethanation of water lily (Eichhornia crassipes). Funded by the Organization of American States.
Participation as project manager at the Tecnológico de Estudios Superiores de Ecatepec (TESE): Biosorption of heavy metals in industrial effluents. Funded by the Institute of Environmental Studies of the Secretary of Ecology of the State of Mexico. Biosorption of heavy metals in effluents from the electroplating industry using immobilized biomass of Aspergillus niger and Evolution of the redox potential in the anaerobic biodegradation of 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid, supplemented with alternative carbon sources. Participation in the projects of the area of Conservation and Commercialization of Agricultural Products (CCPA), Department of Agricultural and Animal Production (DPAA) UAM Xochimilco Campus: Evaluation of organochlorine pesticides, polychlorinated biphenyls and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in water for human consumption and for dairy cattle. Evaluation of the nutritional quality and safety of organic raw milk produced in Tecpatán, Chiapas, Mexico. Presence of persistent chemical substances (organochlorine pesticides, polychlorinated biphenyls and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons) in goat milk and cheese produced in areas of the Mexican Altiplano. Diagnosis of organic coffee production systems in the community of Eloxochitlán de Flores Magón, Oaxaca.
She has participated in the publication of 21 articles in international journals indexed in JCR, such as Journal of Dairy Science, International Dairy Journal, and ten articles in peer-reviewed journals. He has published nine chapters in books such as Fossil Fuel and the Environment, CYTED-IBEROFUN, Nova Science Publishers.
She has directed two undergraduate theses, 23 social services, and six graduate theses. He has participated in 100 national and international conferences. She has taught 55 courses at the undergraduate level, such as Energy and Consumption of Basic Substances and Quality and Safety Management of Agricultural Products, and ten at the graduate level.
