Profile

Professor Lemaitre held a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Paris 6 and a degree in Physics from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). He was involved in teaching, research, technological innovation development, and consulting at various institutions, including the Institute for Research in Applied Mathematics and Systems (IIMAS) at UNAM, the UNAM Faculty of Sciences, the National Laboratory for Advanced Informatics (LANIA), and the Cuajimalpa Unit of the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM).

His areas of interest included distributed artificial intelligence, multi-agent systems, electronic institutions and organizations, social models of argumentation, and the responsible and ethical development of computing and artificial intelligence.

He was a founding member of several scientific computing organizations in Mexico and abroad, including the Mexican Society for Artificial Intelligence (SMIA), the National Laboratory for Advanced Informatics (LANIA), the Ibero-American Organization for Artificial Intelligence (IBERAMIA), the International Foundation for Multiagent Systems (IFMAS), the Mexican Society for Computer Science (SMCC), the Mexican Research and Development Network in Computing (REMIDEC), and the Mexican Academy of Computing (AMEXCOMP).

Since June 2020, he had served as a member of the Mexican delegation to the Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence (GPAI).

He held the position of full professor in the Department of Information Technologies at the Cuajimalpa Campus of UAM.
