Profile

Dr. Jesús Said Pantoja-García holds a Bachelor's degree in Automation and Control Engineering (2013), a Master's degree in Computer Technology (2015), and a Ph.D. in Robotics and Mechatronic Systems Engineering (2019) from the Instituto Politécnico Nacional (IPN). He serves as a Professor-Researcher at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana Unidad Lerma, affiliated with the Department of Productive Processes within the Division of Basic Sciences and Engineering, where he teaches in the Mechatronic Systems Engineering Program. Prior to this, he worked at Universidad Rosario Castellanos and contributed to student mentorship at IPN's ESIME Zacatenco, continuing his academic work at UAM Lerma since October 2024.

His primary research lines focus on the kinematic and dynamic modeling of wheeled mobile robots (WMRs) and optimal mechanism design through single- and multi-objective metaheuristic optimization. His research appears in JCR Q1-indexed journals including Mathematics, Applied Soft Computing, International Journal of Systems Science, and Mathematical Problems in Engineering, addressing topics from metaheuristic control of robotic manipulators to optimal mechanism synthesis for bipedal gait and unified kinematic modeling of heterogeneous mobile robots. He has delivered international conference presentations in Mexico, Portugal, and Spain, and brings extensive teaching experience in courses such as Electric Circuits, Electronics, Linear Algebra, Robotics, and graduate-level Discrete Mathematics.
