Professor Luz María Sánchez holds a Ph.D. in Art from the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona, she is an academic, writer and transdisciplinary artist. She is part of the area of Practical Research as research in the arts, Transdiscipline, and Sound (PiaTS). She is a member of the National System of Researchers SNI level 1, a member of the National System of Creators of Art SNCA, and is part of the Executive Committee of the Samuel Beckett Society in England. She is a Professor at the Department of Arts and Humanities at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM) Lerma Campus, and has been a visiting professor at the University of Barcelona, Spain (2019, 2020, 2021), University of Lodz, Poland (2021), the Art Academy of the University of Bergen, Norway (2021), the Art Institute Chicago School of Art, USA (2021), University of the Arts London UAL, England (2020), Aalborg University, Denmark (2018), among other institutions in Europe and the Americas.
Professor Sanchez was Head of the Department of Arts and Humanities (2015 to 2019) at the Lerma Campus of the UAM, director of Canal 22 Internacional (2009-2013), and director of Radio Universidad de Guadalajara (2008).

Exhibitions of her research-creation results in national and international museums include 12 solo exhibitions, five two-person exhibitions, and more than 35 group exhibitions, among them at OK Centre/Prix Ars Electronica, Linz (2020 and 2021); WRO Art Biennial, Wrocław (2019); Museo Universitario Arte Contemporáneo MUAC (2019); Museo de Arte Moderno, Mexico City (2018); ZKM Center for Art and Media, Karlsruhe (2017). He received two honorable mentions from the prestigious Prix Ars Electronica award for his works Vis. Force [in]necessary_3 (2020) and Vis. Force [in]necessary_4 (2021).
She is founder of the Beckett-Mexico initiative, and co-founder of the Red Ecología Acústica México [REA_MX] and the Red de Investigación Artes Ciencias Humanidades y Ciudadanía ACHC of the UAM.
