Dr. Christian Sperling studied Hispanic Literature, English Literature, and Latin American Studies at WWU Münster. He holds a Ph.D. in Literature from the UNAM.

He is currently a professor-researcher at the Azcapotzalco Campus of the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana, where he teaches in the Graduate Program in Mexican Literature, the Graduate Program in Historiography, and the General Subject Trunk. She coordinated the Master's Degree in Contemporary Mexican Literature (2014-2018).

His research fields include Mexican and Latin American narrative, the relationship between literature and other discourses, especially the correspondences between scientific discourse and literature, communication on violence in contemporary literary creation, and Spatio-temporal configurations in the current narrative.

He is co-author of six books and author of more than thirty articles in academic books and journals published in Latin America and Europe. Since 2012 he has been recognized by the National System of Researchers and the Desirable Profile (PRODEP).
