Profile

Professor Graciela Guadalupe Pérez Villaseñor has a Doctorate in Biological Sciences from the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM). She carried out a research stay at the Molecular Nutrition Department of the Nutrition Division of the Salvador Zubirán National Institute of Medical Sciences and Nutrition, SSA, the results of which constituted her doctoral thesis, "Expression of the Mitochondrial Branched Chain Amino Acid Transaminase Gene in AS-30d rat cells". Master in Public Health by the School of Public Health, SSA. She graduated as a Chemical Bacteriologist Parasitologist from the National School of Biological Sciences of the Instituto Politécnico Nacional (IPN). She made a Postdoctoral stay at the Institute of Cellular Physiology of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) and a research stay at the Institute of Biomedical Research.

She entered the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana in 1976 in the Department of Biotechnology, Iztapalapa Campus, where she began her development and professional practice contributing to the curricular design of the subject of Food Microbiology, including its practical part.

She is responsible for the Human Biochemistry and Microbiology Laboratory in the Basic Sciences area of ​​the Department of Health Care in the Xochimilco Campus.

She participated in the Didactics Seminar of the Research Institute on the University and Education of the UNAM, where she analyzed the teaching work processes to promote significant learning in students. The study had a particular effort on the role of evaluation in the formation of the student. As a result of this participation, she wrote the chapter "Analysis of the items in PISA 2006: a perspective from the knowledge of the science area".
