Profile
Professor Mauricio Sales-Cruz is a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Professor in the Department of Processes and Technology at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM) Cuajimalpa Campus, Mexico (since 2006). He is a member of the National System of Researchers (level I). He was Head of the Department of Processes and Technology, UAM Cuajimalpa Campus (2009-2013). Likewise, he was appointed Campus Secretary of UAM Cuajimalpa Campus, from October 2016 to June 2017. He was the Director of the Division of Natural Sciences and Engineering (July 2017- July 2021).
He has been a member of the board of directors of the Mexican Academy of Research and Teaching in Chemical Engineering A.C. (AMIDIQ) since 2009 and President of the same (2015-2017). He has worked as a process engineer at Fomento Nacional para el Apoyo a las Artesanías-FONART, Mexico (1995-2000); as a researcher at the Mexican Petroleum Institute (2000-2001); and as a Professor at UAM Iztapalapa Campus (1994-1995) and Universidad del Valle de México (1993-1996).
He has made short stays as a visiting researcher at the University of Cagliari, Italy (2002), as well as at the Universidad Católica del Norte and Universidad de Antofagasta, Chile (2013-2018), and the Technological University of Malaysia (2015). She completed a sabbatical stay at the Technical University of Denmark (2014-2015). His research areas are: heat, momentum and mass transfer; modeling, analysis, design and simulation of chemical processes. He has numerous publications and is a reviewer in internationally refereed indexed journals.
