Professor María Eugenia Vera Herrera holds a Master's degree in Education from the Universidad Tecnológica de México and a Bachelor's degree in Nutrition from the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM) Xochimilco Campus. She has been awarded with the PRODEP Desirable Profile Recognition and is currently a Professor at the UAM Xochimilco Campus.
She is a member of the Academic Group of Educational Research in Biological and Health Sciences National Researcher. Project: Food and Nutrition Surveillance System (SISVAN). Subproject: Rural Observatories. United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO); Scientific Researcher in the Department of Consumer Surveys National Consumer Institute (INCO).

She has worked in the Academic Commission of Adequacy of the Curriculum of the Bachelor's Degree in Human Nutrition; the Academic Commission of Re-accreditation of the Bachelor's Degree in Human Nutrition and the Academic Commission of Project Evaluation of the Dean's Office of the Xochimilco Campus.
