Profile
Doctor Martha Refugio Ortiz Posadas has been a Professor at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM) Iztapalapa Campus since 1990. She received her B.Sc. degree in Biomedical Engineering from the same University in 1988; her M.Sc. degree in Systems, Planning and Informatics from the Universidad Iberoamericana in 1990, and her Ph.D. degree in 1999 from UAM Iztapalapa Campus.
She is currently working in the Medical Informatics Laboratory of the Biomedical Digital Signal and Image Processing Research Area of the Electrical Engineering Department. Her main research interest is: Mathematical modeling. She works on the application of the combinatorial logic approach of pattern recognition theory in the mathematical modeling of medical-biological science problems and the development of knowledge-based computational tools to aid medical decision making and Clinical Engineering. She develops and evaluates methods related to the management, evaluation, performance, and impact of medical technology installed in hospitals on the quality of medical services.
