Doctor Rafaela Blanca Silva López is a Professor and Researcher at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM) Lerma Campus since 2016 and has PRODEP recognition 2013-2023. She completed her Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering in 1990 and her Master's degree in Computer Science in 1995, both at UAM. She completed postgraduate studies at the University of Guadalajara and concluded in 2015 her Ph.D. in Educational Systems and Environments.
She was Head of the Systems Department of the Division of Basic Sciences and Engineering from October 2010 to October 2014 and coordinated the Virtual Campus of the Lerma Campus from January 2016 to July 2022. She is currently Director of the Basic Sciences and Engineering Division of the Lerma Campus from July 11, 2022, to July 10, 2026.
She has received several awards, including the Teaching Award in 1998 and 2010 granted by the UAM Azcapotzalco Campus, and in 2021 granted by the Lerma Campus. University Merit Medal for the best average of the Electronics Engineering generation awarded by UAM Campus Azcapotzalco. Academic mention for his contribution to the development of knowledge and welfare of society, for his Master's thesis, awarded by UAM Azcapotzalco Campus. "BEST PAPER : Education in Engineering Track" and "BEST PAPER OF THE CONFERENCE" at the Conference Technical and Scientific Conference of the Andean Council of the IEEE (ANDESCON 2020) in Quito Ecuador, with the paper: ADVNETLAB Methodology: How to Improve Quality in Software Development and Engineering Projects.

She has taken more than 20 disciplinary and pedagogical updating courses. She has certifications as Database Administrator and Java Development, as well as a pedagogical certification from the Universidad Panamericana.
Professor Silva was a senior consultant specializing in database administration and project manager in various business application developments. She collaborated with the Ministry of Economy in the project "Innovation Model based on the Knowledge Economy".
She was director of development and training at ACSINET S.A. de C.V. (2000-2009).
She participated in the Mexican Association of Free Software (AMESOL), as vice president of training, promoting programs: open source, ICT for SMEs (2006).
Her most recent research work includes the publication of eight book chapters, as well as 12 publications indexed in Scopus and more than 30 articles in national and international conferences. She has refereed more than 35 national and international articles. He has given more than 35 conferences.
She has more than 25 years of teaching experience and has advised more than 60 terminal project students, three Master's students, and three Doctoral students.
She is currently a member of the Academic Board of the Doctorate in Educational Systems and Environments; belongs to the basic core of the Doctorate in Educational Systems and Environments of the Virtual UDG; participates in the Editorial Committee of the Journal Education and Technology of the SOMECE; member of the INEDAT Lerma Network in which academics from the Lerma Campus participate; Participates in the Executive Project of the International Research Network on Online Education (RIIEL) of the Union of Universities of Latin America and the Caribbean (UDUAL), in the area of New Educational Trends.
