Profile
Professor Juan B. Climént Bonilla is a graduate in veterinary Medicine and Zootechnics from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, UNAM (1969-1974). On January 20, 1976, he was awarded the University Merit Medal "Gabino Barreda", for having obtained the highest average of the 1970-1974 generation of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Zootechnics of the UNAM. He studied for a Master's degree in Extension and Rural Development at the University of Florida, Gainesville, Florida, (1978-1979), and obtained a Ph.D. (1987-1990), in the Department of Education, College of Agriculture, Cornell University, Ithaca, New York, U.S.A., with the dissertation: "An Analysis of Models Related to Extension Education for Agricultural and Rural Development".
Since 1986, he has been a Professor in the Department of Agricultural and Animal Production, Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM) Xochimilco Campus, Mexico City. He is the author of six books and 21 refereed research articles in specialized national and international journals.

His research work has been particularly directed to problems and issues related to the development of competencies in the training of individuals and groups.
