Professor Luis Fernando Castro Careaga is an electrical engineer specializing in computing sciences from the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM) (1983). He has 100% of Master's Credits in Computer Science from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) (1986) and Finances from the ITAM (1995).

Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering of the UAM since 1984. He was a coordinator of the Bachelor of Electrical Engineering 1989 to 1991. Head of the Computation and Systems area of 2006-2008. Head of the Electrical Engineering Department.

Professor of Computer Science courses since 1984 in the Software Engineering and Database Specialty (more than 100 courses taught). Co-supervision of 2 master's theses in information science and technologies. Advisor for more than 200 terminal projects of the Bachelor of Computing.
