Professor José Raúl Montes de Oca Machorro is a full-time Professor assigned to the Department of Mathematics of the Basic Sciences and Engineering Division of the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM) Iztapalapa Campus.
He has a Bachelor´s degree in Mathematics and Ph.D. in Science (Mathematics) at the UAM Iztapalapa Campus and Master in Science (in the specialty of Mathematics) in the Cinvestav-IPN.
He received the University Merit Medal for his doctoral studies (awarded by the UAM in November 1995).
