Dr. José Ramón Verde Calvo holds a PhD in Sciences (Biology) from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), and is currently a Full-Time Professor at the Department of Biotechnology of the Division of Biological and Health Sciences of the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana, Iztapalapa Campus.
Professor José Ramón Verde Calvo carries out teaching and research activities on Enology, Fermented Foods, Food Safety and Nutraceutical Products at the Department of Biotechnologyt of the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana, Iztapalapa Campus. He has been a full professor and researcher since 1981.
He has contributed to developing eight textbooks, 31 indexed scientific publications, three patents, 90 undergraduate thesis advisories, and 20 graduate thesis advisories. He has led or collaborated on 18 research projects, taught over 200 undergraduate and graduate courses, and more than 20 continuing education courses on gas chromatography. Additionally, he has held various university administrative positions. He has been a member of the Researchers National System in Mexico, Level I, since 2009.
