In memoriam
Dr. Héctor Martin Luna García was born in January 1954 in Mexico City and passed away in 2023. He studied a bachelor's degree in Physics and Mathematics, as well as a Master of Science with a specialization in Physics at the National Polytechnic Institute (IPN, 1977-1983). Later, he obtained a Ph.D. in Science and Engineering (Materials) from the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM), Azcapotzalco campus (2000-2003).
He began his career at UAM in 1975, where he developed a distinguished career as a Full-Time Research Professor, Category C, affiliated with the Applied Atomic and Molecular Physics Area. His research focused on the field of Atomic and Molecular Physics.
Since 2003, he successfully began applying special functions (hypergeometric functions, polygamma functions, etc.) to Classical, Quantum, and Relativistic Quantum Physics, achieving significant results. In 2004, he received the Medal for University Merit at UAM Azcapotzalco, and in 2014, he was awarded the Teaching Prize at the same institution.
His academic and scientific legacy endures within the university community.
