Professor Atilano Gutiérrez Carillo completed a Master of Science in Organic Chemistry, with a specialization in Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR), at the Department of Chemistry of CINVESTAV in 1981.
Since 1994, he led the NMR Laboratory at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana, Iztapalapa Campus, as a Senior Academic Technician (Titular E). In this role, he provided NMR services to researchers at the Campus and to external users—including CINVESTAV, CIATEQ, UNAM, IQUIAP, and Laboratorios PISA, among others; advised on the interpretation of NMR spectra; taught the NMR course (UEA); and maintained NMR equipment (500 and 300 MHz), including the periodic refilling of liquid nitrogen and helium.
He did not direct research projects; however, he contributed to projects led by researchers at UAM and other research institutions.
