Profile
Professor Ofelia Castañeda López earned a Bachelor’s degree in Hydrobiology from the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana, Mexico, and she completed a Master’s degree in Environmental Education.
She served as a Full-Time Professor-Researcher (Titular C) in the Department of Hydrobiology, within the Coastal Ecosystems research area. She co-founded and led the Documentation Center “Ecosistemas Litorales Mexicanos,” a specialized database on Mexican coastal lagoons.
Her research areas included hydrology, nutrients, and primary production in coastal aquatic systems.
