Profile

Doctor Jesús Gabriel Franco Enríquez has retired as Full-Time Senior Professor, Level C, in the Department of Health Care within the Division of Biological and Health Sciences at the Xochimilco Campus of the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM).

He is a surgeon, graduated from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), earned a Master’s degree in Occupational Health at UAM Xochimilco, and a PhD in Anthropology from the Escuela Nacional de Antropología e Historia (ENAH).

During his career at UAM, Dr. Franco served as a senior research professor in the Master's program in Workers' Health Sciences, which he coordinated in two periods: 1999-2001 and 2009-2013. He also held the position of Head of the Health and Work Research Area between 2006 and 2009.

Throughout his academic career, he has authored and co-authored numerous books, book chapters, scientific articles, and works presented at national and international events. He also developed specialized computer programs in the field of occupational health.

His research lines focused on the PROVERIFICA Model for Verification, Diagnosis, and Surveillance of Occupational Health in Companies and the analysis of the relationship between Corporate Culture and Occupational Health. Additionally, Dr. Franco advised various public and private sector companies on safety and hygiene, environment, and worker health issues.
