Profile
Professor Elizabeth Verde Flota earned a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana, Xochimilco Campus. She completed a Master’s degree in Women’s Studies at UAM, Xochimilco Campus, and she pursued a specialization in Public Administration at the Instituto de Estudios Superiores en Administración Pública.
She served as a faculty member in the Nursing undergraduate program at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana, Xochimilco Campus, where she held the rank of Full-Time Professor (Titular C). Her research lines included health, education, and gender, as well as youth and self-care.
She coordinated the Nursing program at UAM, Xochimilco Campus from 2010 to 2016. She participated in national and international conferences on topics such as gender, youth, health, and nursing. She worked as an internal advisor for social service final projects and served on evaluation committees for hiring and promotion exams for part-time and full-time faculty at UAM, Xochimilco Campus. She held the PROMEP Profile and she maintained faculty recertification.
She authored and co-authored scientific articles in national and international journals on topics related to gender, youth health, self-care, and research as a driver of paradigm shifts in nursing, among others. She also co-authored book chapters on education and nursing.
