Profile
Dr. Santos Mercado Reyes, born in May 1950 in Jiquipilco, State of Mexico, studied at the School of Physics and Mathematics at IPN, at the Center for Economic Research and Teaching (CIDE), and earned doctorates from UAM, IPN, Tulane University, and Universidad Autónoma Chapingo.
He developed his professional career as a social promoter, professor, and academic coordinator. His research focused on economic and monetary systems aimed at combating poverty and inflation.
He coordinated seminars on Milton Friedman and Friedrich von Hayek, served as president of the National Taxpayers Union Atlas, and was a founding member of the Jefferson Institute for the Americas.
