Dr. Claudio Gustavo Ruiz Lang

Dr. Claudio Gustavo Ruiz Lang graduated with a degree in Veterinary Medicine and Animal Husbandry from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) in 1976. He later specialized in Infectious Diseases and Prophylaxis at the University of Bologna, Italy, in 1978, and obtained a Ph.D. in Pedagogical Sciences from the University of Havana, Cuba, in 2002.

Throughout his career, he published several books under the imprint of the Division of Biological and Health Sciences of Xochimilco campus of the Universidad Autónoma de México (UAM). With a distinguished career spanning over 45 years, he dedicated his life to teaching, research, and the dissemination of culture. His scientific output includes more than 200 articles, published in both international and national journals.

He supervised numerous undergraduate and postgraduate theses and collaborated as a reviewer for the journal Sociedades Rurales of the Department of Agricultural and Animal Production at UAM, Xochimilco campus.

Before joining UAM, he was a part-time research professor in the Preventive Medicine Area of ENEP Cuautitlán (now FES Cuautitlán), where he taught courses in “Animal Hygiene” and “Veterinary Public Health” between 1974 and 1977.

At UAM, he served as a full-time research professor in the Veterinary Medicine Bachelor’s program in the Department of Agricultural and Animal Production, where he was the head of the module "Characterization and Morphofunctional Evaluation of the Healthy Animal" since November 1978. He also participated as an instructor in university didactics courses for over 30 years, both at UAM and at various universities in the country.

In 2002, he received the Teaching Award in recognition of his commitment to the academic formation of new generations.

Now, following his retirement, Dr. Ruiz Lang leaves behind a legacy of knowledge and dedication that continues to inspire the academic community.
