Profile

Professor María Guadalupe Rodríguez Sánchez studied the Bachelor of Physics and Mathematics at the Instituto Politécnico Nacional (IPN), the Doctorate in Mathematics at the CINVESTAV, under the advice of Dr. Isidoro Gitler and postdoctorate at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia.

She has been recognized with the desirable profile since 2017, the stimuli to the outstanding academic trajectory in 2012, and the stimulus to teaching and research in the Azcapotzalco Campus of the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM). She was a member of the Postgraduate Studies Committee in Optimization from 2016 to 2018.

Her research area is in discrete mathematics, particularly in the fields of Matroid theory, Delta-Matroids, Polimatatroids, and Graphics. Professor Rodríguez works in the graduate of optimization, has directed several theses, 2 of Master and is currently advisor of two theses, one of a master's degree and one of the doctorate. She has also been a Bachelor's and Master's Thesis Director in other university programs. She belongs to the Department of Basic Sciences, in which she has advised several theses of Bachelor and Social Service Works. She has managed to form a research team in Delta-Matroids with her students and some fellow researchers.

She has submitted her research work to multiple national and international congresses and has published articles of research and divulgation in national and international journals, all of them indexed.

Professor Rodríguez organized several meetings with colleagues: Cycle of Conferences "Genesis and Evolution of the Universe and Life," allocated to the entire community of the Azcapotzalco Campus, from January 30 to June 19, 2013; The polymatroid seminar with the participation of Dr. Geoffrey Whittle of the University of Virginia, NZ, and Mexican researchers, in 2016; The first, second and fourth matroid encounters which were carried out in 2015, 2016 and 2018, at the national level; "The Agustina enigma," round table and projection of the scientific dissemination documentary of the same name, winner of the 2019 Prism Award, UAM Azcapotzalco Campus, February 21, 2020.

She has performed several work stays at the Imate-Oaxaca, in 2009 and 2011. In 2015 she made a research stay at "Victoria University of Wellington" to work with Dr. Geoffrey Whittle. From September 20 to October 20, 2018, she made a research stay and organized a brief course on Delta-Matroides and her representability in the Imate-Oaxaca.
