Dr. Carlos Alberto Reynoso Mejía holds a Bachelor's degree in Physics and a Master's degree in Medical Physics from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), alongside a Ph.D. in Physical-Mathematical Sciences from the Instituto Politécnico Nacional (IPN). He completed a three-year postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Wisconsin–Madison (USA), focusing on the development and evaluation of computed tomography (CT) techniques. For a decade, he served as a medical physicist and Radiation Safety Officer at the PET-CT Molecular Imaging Unit of the Instituto Nacional de Neurología y Neurocirugía Manuel Velasco Suárez.
He currently serves as a Professor-Researcher in the Department of Physics within the Division of Basic Sciences and Engineering at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana Unidad Iztapalapa.
His research and technological development framework specializes in applied medical physics, including computed tomography dosimetry, internal dosimetry in nuclear medicine, PET and SPECT image quantification, thermoluminescent dosimetry, and Monte Carlo simulations for radiation physics applications in healthcare.
