Dr. Christian Javier Salas Juárez holds a Ph.D. in Materials Science from the Universidad de Sonora (2022), where he also earned a Master’s degree in Materials Science (2016) and a Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Chemistry and Biology (2014). He completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Center for Research in Applied Science and Advanced Technology, Legaria Unit, of the Instituto Politécnico Nacional (2022–2025).
Since February 2025, he has been serving as a Visiting Professor in the Chemistry Area of the Department of Basic Sciences. He holds the position of Associate Professor D and is a member of the National System of Researchers at the Candidate level (2023–2026).
His research focuses on the development of new phosphors for solid-state lighting applications, the design of highly luminescent lanthanide complexes for molecular thermal sensors, and luminescence spectroscopy studies in organic and inorganic materials.
