Profile

Dr. Jonatan García Campos earned his Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana, Iztapalapa Campus. He later pursued graduate studies in Philosophy (with a focus on Epistemology) and obtained a Ph.D. in Philosophy of Science, both from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM).

He is currently a Professor and Researcher at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana, Azcapotzalco Campus, in the Division of Social Sciences and Humanities.

His research interests include decision and reasoning theories, studies on dishonesty, evolution and cognition, as well as the history of modern thought—fields in which he has published extensively. To date, he is the author of three books, has coordinated and edited eight books, published ten translations, and authored forty-eight articles and book chapters.

He has been recognized by SECIHTI as a Level II member of the National System of Researchers.

He is currently involved in the following three projects:

• “Reasoning and Decision-Making: From the Social Sciences to Management and Organizational Studies”, approved by the Division of Social Sciences and Humanities Council at UAM.
• Virtual Learning Contexts, an inter-Campus project of the UAM (group project, co-responsible for the project).
• Member of the UNAM PAPITT project “Cognition, Artefactuality, and Representation in Science”.
