Profile

Dr. Agustín Rodríguez Hernández holds a bachelor's degree in Spanish literature from the Tec de Monterrey, Monterrey Campus. He pursued his master's studies at the University of Guanajuato, focusing on Educational Development and Hispano-American Literature, with a thesis titled "Encounter in the Sierra Gorda: Themes of Memory and Destiny in the Lions of the Sierra de Xichú," which received an honorable mention in the 1st Margit Frenk Prize for research in poetic traditions. He completed his doctorate in Hispanic literature at El Colegio de México, where he graduated with a thesis titled "Encounter of Poets: Structure, Elements, and Traditionality in a Communal Festival."

In 2022, he was awarded the distinction of National Researcher, Candidate level, by Conacyt. He conducted two years of postdoctoral research with a Conacyt scholarship at the Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo, focusing his main research on popular décima and décima glosses in the huapango arribeño.

During these two years, he explored the relationship between the décima stanzas and the plants, as well as the connection between the huapango arribeño and the michoacana valona.

With over 13 years of teaching experience, he worked for 6 years in higher secondary education at both the University of León and the Tec de Monterrey, León Campus, and has 7 years of experience at the undergraduate level at the Tec de Monterrey. Additionally, he has taught master's courses for the University of León, the Judicial Power School of the State of Guanajuato, and the master's program in digital humanities at the Tec de Monterrey, teaching in Spanish, French, and English.

Dr. Rodríguez Hernández also has experience in the editorial field, where he worked for over two years on freelance projects and at the UNOi project of Santillana, serving as an editorial assistant and performing tasks such as corrections, writing didactic scripts for multimedia projects, and working on learning sequences with Virtual Reality and drones.

In the realm of international cooperation, he collaborated with the Construye-T project of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) from late 2019 to early 2020, supporting the development of socio-emotional skills with teachers of Higher Secondary Education.

Currently, Dr. Rodríguez Hernández is an Associate Professor D researcher in the Department of Philosophy of the Bachelor of Hispanic Letters program in the Editorial Production area at the Iztapalapa Campus of the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana.
