Profile

Dr. Fabiola de Lachica Huerta obtained her Ph.D. in Sociology from The New School for Social Research in New York. Additionally, she holds a master's degree in Political Sociology granted by the Instituto Mora in Mexico and a bachelor's degree in Sociology from the National Autonomous University of Mexico.

The professor completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Institute of Legal Research at UNAM. Her areas of interest are situated at the intersection of cultural sociology, the sociology of violence, and even sociology, employing qualitative methods in her analysis.

Her research focuses on:

a) The configuration of violent events.
b) The study of subjects, actors, and identities in contexts of violence.
c) The analysis of discourses and narratives of violence.

Dr. Fabiola de Lachica Huerta plays a role in coordinating the Institutional Seminar "Studies on the Event: Diverse Perspectives from the Social" hosted at the Instituto Mora. Furthermore, she is part of coordinating the seminar "Social Theory and Legal Anthropology from the Perspective of Critical Feminism," hosted at the National Laboratory of Diversities at the Institute of Legal Research.

Her academic contributions include publishing articles in indexed journals, addressing topics related to space and violence, victims, violent events, and research methodology in violence projects. Moreover, she has collaborated to create chapters in thematic books on memory, feminicides, circumstances, identities, and subjectivities.

Dr. Fabiola de Lachica Huerta has worked collaboratively with various institutions and organizations, offering her expertise in preparing reports and delivering workshops and seminars on human rights, inequalities, and violence.
