Profile

Professor Mayleth Alejandra Zamora Echegollen has a Degree in Psychology from the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla, graduated with honors. A Master in Social Psychology of Groups and Institutions, Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM) Xochimilco Campus, winner of the Academic Mention's medal. Ph.D. in Sociology from the Instituto de Ciencias Sociales y Humanidades “Alfonso Vélez Pliego” de la Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla, graduated first of her class.

She is currently an associate professor in the Department of Education and Communication of the Social Sciences and Humanities division of the UAM Xochimilco Campus, member of the Center for Multidisciplinary Analysis of the Faculty of Economics of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) and is a candidate for the Sistem Nacional de Investigadores (SNII).

She has carried out research on youth and health in rural areas from community psychology; on affections and material conditions during the health contingency in health personnel and university students; youth and children in vulnerable situations (SNDIF, assistance institutions); high-performance sport, health and psychological discomfort; and a series of investigations on violence in the field of health.

Likewise, she has developed different interventions and research in hospitals in the capital of Puebla, Mexico, referring to hospital and liaison psychology, crisis intervention and psychological first aid, the use of medicines in hospitalized patients, and material and working conditions in hospital personnel. health.

She has been teaching for 12 years at the university level in nursing and psychology degrees. She has also taught courses at the pre-school and primary level, and has carried out psychological care work, language therapy and specialized courses for people with disabilities. She has served as a supervisor of academic and professional practices in hospitals and schools; and has taught courses at the specialty and master's level in English Language Teaching, Pedagogy and specialties in Nursing in Intensive Care and Thanatology.

She is the author of around 20 scientific and popular articles, book chapters on health issues, childhood, adolescence and youth, subjectivities and affections, health workers, suicide and violence in hospital settings. Winner of the CONCyTEP Thesis Scholarships (Consejo de Ciencia y Tecnología del Estado de Puebla), for her undergraduate thesis in 2012 and in 2022 for her doctoral thesis.
