Profile

Dr. Laura Mercedes Santiago Fuentes is Associate Professor of the Medical Research Area and member of the Human Physiology Research Laboratory (DCBS, Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana, Iztapalapa Campus).

She did her undergraduate, masters and doctoral studies at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana.
Her research work is mainly focused on the exploration and monitoring of the autonomic behavior of the mid-altitude resident population through the analysis of cardiovascular and cardiorespiratory fluctuations.

She has taught courses at the undergraduate level in the Division of Biological and Health Sciences (CBS) (Biomathematics I, Biological Physics, Differential Calculus) and in the Division of Basic Sciences and Engineering (CBI) (Physiology of the Nervous and Endocrine Systems; Biomedical Measurements of Pressure, Volume and Flow).
