Professor Edwin Montes-Orozco received the degree of Doctor in Sciences from the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM) Iztapalapa Campjs in January 2022, the degree of Master in Optimization and the bachelor degree of Computer Engineer from the UAM Azcapotzalco Campus in the years 2014 and 2017, respectively.
He has been a Professor at various higher education institutions in Mexico, including the UAM at its Azcapotzalco and Cuajimalpa Campuses, as well as the Faculty of Sciences of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM).
Currently, he is a Visiting professor in the Department of Applied Mathematics and Systems at the UAM Cuajimalpa Campus. He holds the PRODEP desirable profile recognition and is a member of the National System of Researchers (SNII) of the National Council of Humanities, Science, and Technology (CONHACYT).
In the industry, he has worked as a project manager in various Information Technology companies and is a co-founder of Soltecs Automation, for which he has extensive experience in industrial projects related to optimization (logistics), computer networks, residential and commercial automation and home automation.
His research is based on the analysis of complex systems, network science (monolayer and multilayer) through optimization problems and techniques, where he has obtained the publication of more than 10 research articles (most of them in JCR journals) and 2 chapters of book, as well as the presentation of various papers at international conferences.
