Profile

M.Sc.Tiffany Abigail Pérez Ramos holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana, Xochimilco Campus (UAM-Xochimilco), and a Master of Science degree with a specialization in Educational Research from the Center for Research and Advanced Studies (Cinvestav) of the National Polytechnic Institute (IPN).

She is currently a Full-Time Assistant Professor in the Department of Politics and Culture, Division of Social Sciences and Humanities, at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana, Xochimilco Campus.

She is a member of the research project “Educational Trajectories and Experiences in Contexts of Vulnerability” at UAM-Xochimilco and serves as a Candidate Associate Member of the Mexican Council for Educational Research (Consejo Mexicano de Investigación Educativa, COMIE).

Her research focuses on higher education from a sociological perspective, with particular emphasis on undergraduate research assistantships as spaces for academic development, the geography of higher education, and the analysis of students’ educational trajectories and experiences, particularly in contexts of vulnerability. Her work contributes to a deeper understanding of the institutional, territorial, and social factors that shape access to, persistence in, and progression through higher education.
