Dr. Janeth Hernández Flores holds a PhD in Law and a PhD in Political and Social Sciences from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). She has conducted research stays at the University of Bergamo (Italy), the University of Vienna (Austria), and the University of Texas at Austin (United States). She also completed postdoctoral studies at the University of Valladolid (Spain), the University of Texas at Austin, and the Center for Research on North America (CISAN) at UNAM.

She actively participates in international conferences across the Americas, Europe, and Asia, and she engages with various academic associations, networks, and working groups at both national and international levels. She holds Level I recognition in the National System of Researchers (SNII-SECIHTI).

She currently serves as a full-time tenured professor-researcher at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM), Cuajimalpa Campus, where she leads the project “Multilevel Projection of Human Rights from a Transdisciplinary Approach.”

Her academic work includes the coordination of two books, as well as authorship of book chapters and articles published in peer-reviewed national and international journals.

Her research focuses on International Human Rights Law, Public International Law, multilevel protection of human rights, biopolitics and necropolitics, transnational migration, access to justice for minorities, hate speech and violence, critical legal studies, global constitutionalism, and the legal implications of the metaverse and artificial intelligence.
