Profile
Dr. Marc Jiménez Rolland holds a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy from the Universidad Autónoma de Aguascalientes (2006), a Master's degree in Philosophy from the Universidad Autónoma de Zacatecas (2012), and a Ph.D. in Humanities (Philosophy) from the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana, Iztapalapa Campus (2017).
He is a member of the Mexican Network of Argumentation and Rhetoric (REMAR), which he coordinated in 2023, and a member of the Ibero-American Society of Argumentation (SIbArg).
His research focuses on the philosophy of science, epistemology, philosophy of language, and logic. Additionally, he is interested in the philosophy of mind, philosophy of mathematics, and philosophy of cognitive sciences. His academic work centers on the epistemic aspects of individual interaction, analyzing these topics with formal tools and modeling results. He has explored how some epistemic features of science may depend on social elements and has investigated epistemic aspects in collective decision-making through opinion aggregation methods. Currently, he examines epistemic models of scientific argumentation, using formal tools and epistemic notions to describe and evaluate these interactive practices.
Dr. Jiménez Rolland has been awarded the Medal for University Merit (2017) for achieving the highest grade in the Ph.D. in Humanities (Philosophy) at the Iztapalapa Campus of UAM, and the Teaching Award (2022) from the Division of Social Sciences and Humanities at the Cuajimalpa Campus.
