Professor Ana Karen Talavera Peña holds a Doctorate in Psychology and Health from the master's and doctoral program in psychology at UNAM. She is part of the National System of Researchers (SNII) at the Candidate level and holds Recognition for Desirable Profile from PRODEP.

She is a Full-Time Associate Professor at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana, Lerma Campus and currently holds the position of Academic Secretary of the Division of Biological and Health Sciences.

She has served as director and advisor of social service projects, bachelor's, master's and doctoral theses and participated as a jury in professional exams.

She has collaborated in different funded research projects endorsed by CONACYT, PAPIIT and PAPIME.

She has participated in national and international conferences as an assistant, speaker and presenter. She is the author and/or co-author of book chapters and scientific articles published in international peer-reviewed journals.

She has experience in the evaluation and hospital psychological intervention of patients with heart disease, carrying out professional internships and research stays at the General Hospital of Mexico, Siglo XXI National Medical Center IMSS and 20 de Noviembre National Medical Center ISSSTE.

She currently directs two research projects registered and approved by the Divisional Council of Biological and Health Sciences of the Lerma Campus: “Academic stress in students at the UAM Lerma” and “Psychological evaluation and intervention of mothers with prenatal diagnosis of COVID-19 ”, which is carried out at the “Mónica Pretelini Sáenz” Maternal Perinatal Hospital in Toluca in the State of Mexico.

Dr. Talavera has developed all her research work in the area of ..Health Sciences, specifically in Health Psychology, her main contributions have to do with the importance of mental health care from a scientific perspective and the generation of evidence-based psychological intervention programs.
