Profile
Master of Science Alexis de Jesús Escárcega Bata graduated as a Hydrobiologist from the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana, Iztapalapa Campus. He obtained a Master of Science degree in Coastal Oceanography from the Universidad Autónoma de Baja California, Ensenada Campus.
He has taught nearly 15 undergraduate and graduate courses at the Iztapalapa Campus of UAM. Currently, he has a scientific output of 9 published articles and has participated in more than 10 national and international conferences. He has also contributed to the academic development of 4 undergraduate and graduate students as a thesis advisor and mentor.
Since 2023, he has held the position of Associate Professor at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana, Iztapalapa Campus. His research focuses on phylogenetic systematics, taxonomy, and ecology of marine dinoflagellates, with an emphasis on Gymnodiniales dinoflagellates.
