Dr. Ángel José Martínez Salinas holds a Ph.D. in Administration Sciences from the Faculty of Accounting and Administration (FCA) at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) with the dissertation "Biocultural dynamic capabilities for sustainable administration: An analysis of the biological and social network of beekeeping", a Master’s degree in Complexity Sciences with Honors from the Universidad Autónoma de la Ciudad de México (UACM), and a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana Unidad Xochimilco, where he was awarded the University Merit Medal.
He serves as a Full-Time Associate Professor (Level D) in the Department of Social Relations within the Division of Social Sciences and Humanities at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana Unidad Xochimilco. He holds the rank of Candidate for National Researcher in the Sistema Nacional de Investigadoras e Investigadores (SNII) under the Secretaría de Ciencia, Humanidades, Tecnología e Innovación (Secihti), Mexico.
His academic work focuses on facilitating the acquisition of knowledge regarding social, business, biocultural, gender, and public policy aspects of the Socio-ecological System through the systematization of quantitative and qualitative information, utilizing computing tools and empirical data from organizations and communities within their territories. The aim is to identify skills that foster the biological and social diversity generated through daily activities while preventing the degradation of the natural environment. He possesses analytical capacity, results orientation, strong communication skills, leadership, and research design ability. His research areas include: 1) Biocultural development within the Socio-ecological System; 2) Sustainability in territories within planetary boundaries; 3) Sociology, territoriality, and intercultural dissemination; 4) Complexity, methodologies, and artificial intelligence; 5) Gender studies in sustainable organizations.
