Profile

Professor Ernesto Soto Reyes completed his doctoral studies in Biomedical Sciences at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM). He was a researcher in Medical Sciences at the National Cancer Institute from 2010-2018.

Since 2018, he has been a Professor at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM) Cuajimalpa Campus.

His main line of research is cancer epigenetics. He studies the different molecular processes such as DNA methylation profiles, histone post-translational modifications and non-coding RNAs involved in the deregulation of tumor suppressor genes and oncogenes in different cellular models.

He is currently focused on studying epigenetic master regulators such as CTCF, BORIS and histone demethylase KDM4A in different diseases such as cancer.
