Professor Mario Cruz Chavarría Suárez has a Ph.D. in Social Sciences and Humanities from the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM), Cuajimalpa Campus; a Master in Sociology by the Universidad Iberoamericana, Mexico City, specializing in Political Sociology; and a bachelor´s in Sociology, from the UAM Azcapotzalco Campus.

He is a Professor and Researcher at the UAM Cuajimalpa Campus, attached to the Department of Social Sciences.

Member of the National System of Researchers, and he has the recognition of Desirable Profile for Full-Time Professors of the Program for Professional Teacher Development, of the Undersecretary of Higher Education of the Secretary of Public Education.

In addition to teaching courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate level, he is the author and co-author of different books and scientific articles, both national and international, with research lines specific to Political Sociology. He has a long professional career as Parliamentary Advisor in different ordinary and special commissions of the H. Congress of the Union, Federal Legislative Power and as Deputy Director of the Training Area in Public Policies and Government in a public research institute.
