Professor Arelí Rojo Hernández holds a Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering from the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM) Iztapalapa Campus, a Master of Science in Microelectronics Engineering from the Instituto Politécnico Nacional ESIME Culhuacán, and a Ph.D. in Communications and Electronics, also from the Instituto Politécnico Nacional ESIME Culhuacán. She conducted research stays from 2012 to 2013 at the University of Electronics-Communications in Tokyo, Japan, and in 2016, she carried out research at the University of Warwick in Coventry, UK. Since 2018, she has held the position of Tenured Academic Technician within the Department of Applied Mathematics and Systems at UAM Unidad Cuajimalpa.
In her teaching role, she actively supports the Bachelor's Degree programs in Computer Engineering and Applied Mathematics, which are offered by the Department of Applied Mathematics and Systems at Cuajimalpa Campus of UAM.
Her research focuses on various areas, including Signal Processing (both Digital and Analog), Intelligent or Adaptive Filtering, Analog and Digital Control Systems, Neural Networks, Fuzzy Logic, Video Anomaly Detection, Microcontrollers, Development Boards, Wired and Wireless Computer Networks, Operating Systems, High-Level Language Programming, Digital Image Processing, Programming and Control of Development Robots, and various development boards like Raspberry Pi, ESP32CAM, Arduino, FPGA, among others, as well as IoT Systems.
In recognition of her contributions, Dr. Rojo received the Thirtieth Teaching Award in 2021 and currently serves as the Head of the Department of Applied Mathematics and Systems in the Division of Natural Sciences and Engineering at Cuajimalpa Campus.
