Professor Ulises Carrasco Navarro is a Pharmaceutical Chemist and Biologist from the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana-Campus Xochimilco. His Master's studies were carried out in the Department of Biotechnology of the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana-Campus Iztapalapa. He obtained the Ph.D in Biotechnology, awarded by the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana-Campus Iztapalapa, with the work “Proteomic analysis of the signaling pathways mediated by the Gα Pga1 subunit of a heterotrimeric G protein from Penicillium chrysogenum” under the direction of Dr. Francisco Fierro Fierro. Professor Carrasco also has a Postdoctoral stay at the Institute of Cellular Physiology of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM).

On the teaching side, Professor Carrasco has taught courses in Molecular Biology, Metabolic Routes and Microbial Biochemistry for undergraduate students, as well as courses in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, and Molecular Biology Techniques in the Biotechnology graduate program at the UAM-Campus Iztapalapa and the Postgraduate Degree in Biological Sciences at UNAM.

Regarding his research work, he focuses on signal transduction in filamentous fungi of biotechnological interest, for which he uses advanced techniques of Molecular Biology and Proteomics. His research work has been published in various international journals, which has allowed him to be included in the National System of Researchers of Mexico, at level 1.
